EVA Air spreads wings across the Pacific

Taiwan’s EVA Air will continue its expansion in North America in the coming months, with the launch of a brand new service to Chicago.
Effective 3 November 2016, the airline will launch four weekly flights direct from Taipei to the ‘Windy City’, marking the carrier’s eighth destination in North America and its sixth in the US.
On the outbound leg, EVA flight BR55 will depart Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 1950 and arrive at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport at 1940 the same day, having crossed the International Date Line. The return services will then leave Chicago at 0020 every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and arrive back in Taiwan at 0600 the next day.
EVA will deploy its latest Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the route, equipped with 333 seats – 39 in business class, 56 in premium economy and 238 in economy. All passengers will be offered in-flight Wi-Fi services.
North America is a key focus region for EVA, and the airline has progressively expanded its trans-Pacific operations in recent years. In 2014, the airline added 10 more weekly flights to five North American destinations – Vancouver, Toronto, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco – and then in June 2015 it launched direct flights to Houston.
And ahead of the launch of the new Chicago route, EVA is planning to add three more weekly flights to New York’s JFK Airport on 3 October 2016, taking its total frequency on the route to two flights per day. This means that by the end of 2016, EVA will operate 76 weekly flights between North America and Taipei.
