Expedia has announced the launch of its first ‘360-degree’ advertising campaign in India. The campaign, entitled ‘Expedia – one word for travel’ has been rolled out across print, digital, radio and television mediums.
“Following the brand launch in India last year, we spend over INR25 crore purely on local marketing initiatives and experienced a growth of 200%. This year, with marketing spend of INR55-60 crore and an aggressive campaign, we are expecting to substantially increase our market share in the segment.” said Manmeet Aluwalia, Head of Marketing at Expedia India.
During the campaign, the company will also engage with the blogger community. It has invited articles on travel experiences from bloggers and top five entries will get a chance to visit five destinations – London, Sydney, Bellevue, Tokyo and Singapore to experience Expedia’s global presence. The company has simultaneously launched offers for the approaching summer holiday season, including packages to Southeast Asia starting at INR8,495 (airfare and stay) and up to 50% sale on hotels in India.
