The aircraft will also be used for Eznis’ short-haul regional (international) services such as Hailar (China) and Ulan-Ude (Russia). The expansion of fleet is a significant event not only for Eznis Airways, but also for the entire airline industry in a landlocked country which has to depend on efficient and reliable transport to access 3rd country markets.
The aircraft which formerly flew Mesaba Airlines, Eagan, Minnesota, US-based regional carrier has been bought by Eznis using the loan proceeds.
Starting from June 1, 2010, Eznis Airways has launched its second international passenger air service to the capital of Russian Federation’s Buryat Republic - the city of Ulan-Ude.

The new service which is direct is expected to further strengthen trade, cultural and ethnic ties between the traditional partners – Mongolia and the Republic of Buryatia.
Currently, the first and the only international air service to/from the city of Ulan-Ude, the flights Ulan Ude-Ulaanbaatar is also expected to develop regional tourism as it allows for convenient travel to the picturesque Lake Baikal located less than 100 km from Ulan-Ude.
The flights on the route Ulaanbaatar – Ulan-Ude – Ulaanbaatar will be operated twice weekly – on Tuesdays and Saturdays – on 34-seat Saab 340B aircraft. The flights will depart from Ulaanbaatar at 18.00, and the return leg will take off from Ulan-Ude at 21.30 with just 1,5 hrs of flight time between the two cities (all times local).
