Marriott International has announced the signing of Fairfield by Marriott Phnom Penh. Scheduled to open in 2021, the hotel marks the first Fairfield by Marriott hotel in Cambodia.
Owned by Royal Field Development Company Limited, Fairfield by Marriott Phnom Penh will be situated on the Russian Boulevard within the administrative centre of the city. The hotel will offer 300 guestrooms plus an on-site restaurant and fitness centre.
The hotel is a 20-minute drive from the airport and minutes away from the Peace Palace, which serves as the office of Cambodia’s prime minister. It will also afford access to major financial and governmental institutions, new retail hubs, the Phnom Penh city centre; and tourist attractions including Central Market, Sisowath Quay and the Royal Palace.
Paul Foskey, chief development officer, Asia Pacific, Marriott International, said: “We are pleased to enter into partnership with Royal Field Development to debut the Fairfield by Marriott brand in Cambodia, strengthening Marriott International’s presence in Southeast Asia.
“As Phnom Penh continues to grow into a prominent destination in the region, we will cater to the robust demand from business and leisure travelers for reliable, mid-range accommodations in the bustling city.”
Leang Khun, chairman of Chip Mong Group, said, “Phnom Penh continues to enjoy strong economic growth, attracting visitors from all over the world. We believe that Fairfield by Marriott offers outstanding services to travelers who seek a balanced experience at a great price point. And we are excited to work with Marriott International and look forward to a successful partnership.”
