Fiji Airways will start offering iPads to business class passengers travelling on certain flights to Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

The tablet devices will be rolled out on the airline’s fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft and come loaded with a range of in-flight entertainment content including movies, TV shows and music. By March 2016, Fiji Airways plans to offer more than 100 hours of entertainment content through the iPads.

“This is an exciting product upgrade for business class guests on our B737 fleet, and will offer them convenience and choices we haven’t been able to offer before on this aircraft type,” said David Bowden, Fiji Airways’ acting CEO. “This new audio-visual enhancement will be an on-demand service, include the latest movies and TV shows along with the classics.

“We can now bring the B737 business class experience to par with that of our [Airbus] A330s,” he added.

The iPads form part of a broader plan to upgrade Fiji Airways’ IFE content. The airline has signed an agreement with Global Eagle Entertainment for the provision of onboard entertainment, including an increased selection of movies and TV shows on both its B737s and A330s.
