Finnair reports increased traffic in July

Finnair recorded significant year-on-year growth in passenger traffic, closely matched by capacity, through July. System-wide traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres rose by 14.6% as the overall capacity grew 14.7% compared with July 2010. The carrier’s Asian routes saw the biggest jump in demand with capacity up 30% and traffic up 26%. The launch of Finnair’s Singapore route had a significant impact on scheduled traffic which grew by 23.9%. The airline made a strong push in capacity form last year which over-shot demand slightly, causing a 1.6 point drop in load factor to 67.2%. Asian routes registered a load factor of 82.3%.
