Garuda leases six more B737-800s

Garuda Indonesia and GE Capital Aviation Service (GECAS) today announced the signing of and operating lease for six Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft, and three CFM56-7B engines. The agreement was signed in Jakarta by Emirsyah Satar, President & CEO Garuda Indonesia, and GECAS Executive Vice-President, Mike Jones.
Three aircraft are scheduled to be delivered in June, September and October 2013. The other three aircraft will be delivered in June, September and October 2014.
Commenting on the transactions, Emirsyah Satar, said; “This agreement is part of Garuda’s ongoing fleet revitalization with brand new aircraft from Airbus and Boe-ing. By 2015 we will have a total fleet of 153 aircraft, including Airbus A330-series, Boeing 737-800NGs, and Boeing 777-300 Extended Range aircraft. “
GECAS’ Mike Jones, commented: “Garuda Indonesia is a valued customer and we’re pleased to be playing a role in their fleet modernisation and look forward to our continued association them in the years ahead.”
Garuda recently announced the lease of four B737-800NGs from GECAS.
