Global Hotel Alliance forms new loyalty scheme
The Global Hotel Alliance (GHA) has announced the launch of its new combined guest loyalty programme – GHA Discovery. The new initiative unites 12 independent luxury hotel brands and nearly 300 hotels to deliver experience-based rewards.
The programme swaps the traditional points system for a new level of personalised service, providing access to more than 1,000 local experiences designed by each of the local hotels, offering off-the-beaten track activities around the world.
Gold tier members will receive property benefits such as as a choice of Gold Level Local Experience after their first stay at a GHA hotel, as well as a complimentary newspaper, complimentary Internet access and bottled water. Platinum tier members also receive an upgrade to next room category, late 3pm check-out, guaranteed room availability 48-hours prior to arrival, and local amenities.The highest tier, Black, offer a choice of ‘Black Level’ local experience, double upgrade at check-in, early 9am check-in and late 6pm check-out, guaranteed room availability 24 hours prior to arrival, personal choice of local amenities, and other local hotel benefits, such as access to executive lounges, laundry services and more.
The local experiences vary by membership level, For Gold level members, they include learning to play traditional Boduberu drums in the Maldives, or a sunset drive through a nature reserve in Namibia.
