Gulf Air could axe up to 10 underperforming routes as part of restructuring plans.The Bahrain flag carrier is also reviewing its existing orders for wide-body Boeing and Airbus aircraft, CEO Samer Majali told The National.However, the carrier is looking to boost its regional network and by 2012, and according to Majali, will serve 55 destinations by 2012, compared to 45 today.”There are very hard decisions to be made regarding the fleet, the types of airplanes we are going to use, the stations we serve and the employees we have,” Majali said in Berlin during the annual meeting hosted by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
