Hainan Airlines is planning to launch the first direct flights between Rome and Xi’an.
Commencing on 9 December 2015, the new twice weekly flights will depart the northern Chinese city’s Xianyang International Airport every Wednesday and Saturday at 0100, arriving at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport at 0555. The return service will take off from the Italian capital at 1240 and arrive back in Xi’an at 0600 the next day.
Hainan Airlines will become the first airline operating the city pair, and will deploy a 260-seat, two-class Airbus A330-200 aircraft on the route.
The new service becomes Hainan Airlines’ second route to Rome, following the existing twice weekly flight from Chongqing which launched in April 2015.
