Hainan Airlines has announced plans to launch a new Boeing 787 Dreamliner service to the US city of Boston.
The new route, which has been approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), is expected to commence in April 2014, with Hainan Airlines operating daily flights direct from Beijing Capital International Airport.
Hainan Airlines took delivery of the first of 10 Dreamliners this month, and will use them on a series of trans-Pacific routes to North America. As well as Boston, the carrier intends to offer B787 flights from Beijing to Chicago, Seattle and Toronto.
For Boston’s Logan International Airport, this will mark the second new direct connection to Asia that has been enabled by the Dreamliner. Last year Japan Airlines commence direct flights to the city from Tokyo.
Hainan Airlines’ B787 Dreamliner will be configured with 213 seats in two classes – 36 in business class and 177 in economy.
