Hanoi to spend on infrastructure improvements

Authorities in Hanoi will spend VND3.3 trillion (US$168 million) to develop the city’s infrastructure, local media has reported. According to Thanh Nien News, the Vietnamese capital’s streets, squares, parks and gardens will all be renovated, while electricity wires will be moved underground. Investment in urban lighting systems is also planned, with all projects set to be completed by 2015.
