Indian airports have been put on high alert after intelligence reports warned of a possible attempt to hijack an Indian airliner. The BBC reported India’s Civil Aviation Ministry as saying on Saturday that it was tightening security on aircrafts ahead of the country’s annual Republic Day celebrations on 26 January. Passengers will now be subjected to extra screening before they board an aircraft while armed sky marshals will be deployed on certain flights, the report added.
