Japan Airlines has revealed that it will deploy its new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on the Tokyo–Hanoi route.
The B787 aircraft (unconfirmed whether it will be a B787-8 or larger B787-9) will start flying to the Vietnamese capital on 25 October 2015, featuring the airline’s new premium economy class. Flights will operate direct from Tokyo Narita airport.
The deployment forms part of a major revision of JAL’s fleet plans for the winter 2015-16. The airline will also operate its new B787-9 Dreamliner on the Narita-Frankfurt route from 25 October, and its newly-refitted B787-8 on the Narita-Moscow route from 1 February 2016.
Both aircraft will feature the new JAL Sky Suite cabin products, resulting in all JAL flights to Europe offering the new cabin products this winter.
Meanwhile, JAL’s B777-300ER aircraft featuring the new Sky Suite products will be deployed on the Narita-Sydney and Narita-Jakarta routes from 25 October.
The Narita-Seoul Incheon service however, will be downgraded from a twin-aisle B767 aircraft to a single-aisle B737.
Bookings for the new Dreamliner services to Hanoi opened on 21 August 2015.
