The Jamaica Tourist Board had rolled out two onlinetraining modules and a series of fam trips in the final stages of the CTO Caribbeanmonth. The tourism board is to host 150 agents during its ‘Jamaica Five-O’ megafams, which continue into this month and it has also continued to visit agentson its roadshow, including those on the Isle of Man.
Meanwhile, Jamaica’stourism minister the Hon. Edmund Bartlett and director of tourism John Lynchmet with travel partners in the UK last week in an effort to increase visitorarrivals and as a pre-WTM visit. This included a meeting with chocolate brandCharbonnel et Walker to discuss Jamaica’s coca industry and plans to launch achocolate brand next year.
“Our time in the UK, albeit short, was invaluable in terms ofhelping support and strengthen our tourism product in the UK market,” saidBartlett. “To do this, we’ve strived not just to look at existing channels ofsupport, such as with our travel partners but also areas that have not beenexplored and exploited for some time, such as with Jamaica’s cocoa industry”.
