Korean Air has become embroiled in a row with Japan over a disputed island chain. The Korea Herald reported yesterday that Japan has told its diplomats to boycott Korean Air flights for a month after the Seoul-based carrier’s brand new Airbus A380 flew over the disputed Dokdo Islands, in the Sea of Japan. The South Korean government has urged Japan to revoke the measure, adding that it would “respond in a firm manner”.
Kyodo News reported Japan’s Foreign Minister, Takeaki Matsumoto as saying that the incident represented “a violation of Japan’s airspace”.
