Restored buildings from a fortress in Tokyo Bay that was destroyed and submerged by an earthquake in 1923 will be opened to the public later this month. Kyodo news reported that the fort, built on a manmade island, was left submerged following the 7.9-magnitude Great Kanto Earthquake which devastated Tokyo and Yokohama 88 years ago. Three recovered buildings will be opened for public viewing at a park in Yokosuka where they have been relocated.
