The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) has launched a new Arabic-language website to provide tourism information to the growing number of travellers from the Middle East. The Arabic site, available at www.alyaban.travel, is the 12th language for the JNTO’s online presence.
“The number of visitors from the Middle East to Japan is still small at the moment, but then air links from the region to Tokyo are still relatively new. Emirates and Etihad started flying to Tokyo in March 2010 and Qatar [Airways] in April 2010. JNTO does not yet have any budget to actively promote Japan as a holiday destination to the Middle East market, but we do hope this new Arabic JNTO website will help convince anyone considering a visit to Japan that it is a fantastic destination for a holiday,” said Kylie Clark of JNTO’s London Office.
The new JNTO Arabic website contains content on three key areas: the Japanese countryside and main sightseeing spots; Practical information on shopping, food and transportation; and Basic information to plan a trip to Japan.
The website features a range of photos, information about food ingredients and preparation of typical dishes, and addresses of mosques in Japan. The website also offers language and conversation lists written in Arabic, Japanese and English.
