The number of passengers travelling on ferries between Java and Bali declined 5% over the past month, the Bali Post has reported. The recent eruption of Mount Bromo in East Java, which also disrupted air to the resort island, is thought to have had an effect on sea traffic. Officials from ferry operator, PT Indonesia Fery Ketapang-Gilimanuk, were reported saying that high seas, as well as the volcanic activity, had disrupted services between Ketapang (Java) and Gilimanuk (Bali).
