Jazeera Airways plans to boost sales through the travel trade, the low-cost carrier’s CEO Stefan Pilchler has revealed
Speaking as the carrier launched its three times weekly service to Lahore, Pakistan (12 May),
Pilchler he was keen to promote the new route to the travel trade.
“Around 10-20% of our sales currently go through travel agents. But we plan to expand on this,” he added.
The airline signed up to Galileo nearly a month ago in a bid to attract more agent bookings.
“In this time we have seen GDS bookings coming through and we hope the travel agency bookings will steadily climb to 40-50% within the next three years,” explained Pilchler.
He added that the carrier had simplified its booking structure, making the process easier for passengers and the trade.
“The new fare structure is much simpler and adaptive to passenger needs,” he said.
“We have one economy class fare instead of three and can be booked through a number of different routes including travel agency and online.”
