Singaporean travellers will soon be able to fly direct to beaches of Sanya, on China’s Hainan island, following the launch of a new service by Jetstar.
The low-cost carrier will commence non-stop flights between Singapore’s Changi Airport and Sanya’s Phoenix International Airport on 2 August 2016, and tickets are now on sale.
Flights will operate twice a week, departing Changi every Tuesday and Saturday at 0700 and arriving in Sanya at 1000. The return services then leave at 1050 and arrive back in Singapore at 1400. Jetstar will deploy a 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft on the route.
Sanya will become Jetstar’s second destination in Hainan, following the provincial capital Haikou.
“Customers flying to Hainan Island can now choose to fly direct two services a week to the resort city of Sanya or four weekly services to the provincial capital of Hainan in Haikou,” said Jetstar Asia’s CEO, Bara Pasupathi. “Jetstar Asia has been operating direct services to Haikou for more than five years and with the new services to Sanya, Hainan island will be a new favourite for Singaporeans.”
Sanya will become Jetstar Asia’s fifth destination in mainland China, following Shantou, Haikou, Guiyang and Wuhan.
