Kenya eyes larger share from Indian market

Kenya Tourism Board is eyeing at a larger share of tourists from the Indian market.
The tourism board is targeting to reach over 200,000 Indian tourists in the next five years. “We see a lot of potential in Indian market and that’s why we are marketing more now. Our objective is to reach over 200,000 Indian tourists in the next five years. Overall, in arrivals, India ranks fourth after UK, US and Italy. We are focusing on weddings, high-end travellers, honeymoon, sports and Bollywood. India and Kenya have a lot of historical connection and it is easy for Indians to connect with the country,” said H E Florence I Weche, High Commissioner of Kenya to India.
The tourism board participated at the recently concluded SATTE in New Delhi. Kenya Tourism Board launched its mobile application, The Magical Kenya App, aimed at increasing the number of arrival to the country by providing an opportunity through which the tourists find reliable information about the destination, plan their trips and share their holiday experiences in form of videos.
