Korea flock to the Philippines

Combined, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia have annually welcomed a few hundred-thousand of Koreans over the past few years. But the big winner seems to be the Philippines.
In 2006 Korean arrivals surpassed the US as the top market with more than 570,000 arrivals, The popular resort island of Boracay claims 65% of its visitors last year were Koreans.
Not only is Korea the top tourism market, it leads the US and Japan in foreign direct investment. Last year’s figures show Korea accounted for US$1.2 bn of the Philippines total US$3.5 bn in FDI. (Asian Sentinal)
