Indonesia’s Lion Air is planning an initial public offering (IPO) in late 2012 or early 2013, in an effort to raise up to US$1 billion. Local media reported that the carrier would issue offer up to 30% of the company’s shares, with the funds being used as a reserve. Its continued fleet and route expansion plans will continue to be funded by company’s internal cash reserves and bank loans, Lion Air’s Managing Director, Rusdi Kirana, was reported saying yesterday.
