Lux Resorts & Hotels has unveiled its new-look luxury Indian Ocean resort.
The 193-key Lux South Ari Atoll re-opened last week in the Maldives, promising a “chic beach-house style”.
Accommodation now includes 49 pool villas which feature private infinity-edged pools along with twin showers, private terraces featuring “couples’ love nests” and decks with steps down into the sea. These form part of a new “Adults-Only Sanctuary”. The majority of these villas have seven-metre pools, while three have larger 14-metre pools.
There are now eight restaurants and five bars at the resort, including several Asian outlets such as a sushi bar, along with the Maldives’ largest selection of sakés and Japanese whiskies.
Other facilities include a spa with overwater treatment rooms, a traditional Chinese teahouse, space for yoga, meditation, pilates, tai chi and qigong classes, and a large selection of water-sports. And after dark, nightly entertainment is provided at the Beach Rouge club and on a sandbank featuring its own DJ booth.
“The focus around the creation of a new Lux South Ari Atoll has been as much about the transformation of the property as it has been about the enhancement of the guests’ experiences,” said Paul Jones, CEO of Lux. “For this, our team has worked effortlessly on enriching the moments that matter. I am convinced that places you remember are the ones that inspire you; those that have a soul and caring people. Lux South Ari Atoll has this magical mix.”
Lux South Ari Atoll will also be hosting a series of short, expert-led workshops throughout the year, including painting lessons, a motivational workshop, food art classes and photography sessions.
Following this opening, Lux is planning to launch another Maldivian resort in the North Male Atoll in mid-2017.
