The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has signed an agreement that will lead to the availability of motorbike rentals across the state.
The tourism organisation recently penned a Memorandum of Understanding with Sai Baba Enterprises for “safe and easily accessible two-wheeler rentals” for tourists visiting Maharashtra.
The service will kick-start in the hill station of Mahabaleshwar before being gradually introduced at other tourist destinations across the state. Tourists will need to provide basic proof of identity proof and charges will be based on the duration of the rental.
“Two-wheelers have long been a popular commute choice for tourists since not only is it economical and convenient but also time efficient,” said Shri Paraag Jaiin Nainuttia, managing director of the MTDC. “It also provides the most favourable travel option to connect with a destination and soak in the beauty of the location.
“Road infrastructure in Maharashtra is encouraging for safe two-wheeler travel and we are delighted to have signed the MOU with Sai Baba Enterprises to promote this form of touring among visitors.”
To aid tourists, MTDC operates information centres at all major destinations across the state, which provide travel information, maps, guides and travel books.
