Asia’s first Legoland theme park will be opened in Malaysia, Channel NewsAsia has reported developers as saying. The 31-hectare theme park will be developed in the Iskandar Malaysia economic zone in the southern state of Johor, near Singapore. The attraction will offer 40 rides and models made from Lego bricks. It will be the sixth Legoland in the world, following existing parks in Denmark, the UK, US and Germany. Construction of the MYR720 million (US$236 million) theme park will start in March, with an estimated 30 million Lego bricks being shipped to Malaysia to build the models, which will include a Lego replica of Kuala Lumpur’s Petronas Twin Towers.
