Malindo Air has expanded its network in Vietnam with the launch of direct flights to Hanoi.
The Malaysian airline will now operate daily services from Kuala Lumpur to Vietnam’s capital city, using its Boeing 737 aircraft. Flights depart KLIA daily at 0915 and arrive at Hanoi’s Noi Ba International Airport at 1125.
The return flights then leave Vietnam’s capital city at 1215 and arrive back in KL at 1635.
Malindo already operates direct flights between KL and Ho Chi Minh City.
“In 2014 there were about 286,000 Vietnamese tourist arrivals to Malaysia for business, holidays or visiting friends and relatives. Last year, the arrival growth was registered at 6.7%,” said Malindo’s CEO, Chandran Rama Muthy. “Our plan is in tandem with Tourism Malaysia’s strategy of boosting arrivals from Vietnam through health tourism, MICE tourism and increased frequencies.”
Hanoi becomes Malindo’s second new Southeast Asian destination in as many weeks, following the launch of flights between KL and Medan in late August.
