JAKARTA (11 FEBRUARY 2010) — Mandarin Media, a U.S.-based PR and digital media firm, will offer its services across Indonesia commencing June 2010. The company, industry-recognized across Asia for gaining extensive editorial placements in the world’s leading English-language media, will collaborate on this venture with Tom O’Brien, a seasoned travel magazine writer, editor and publisher, to open Mandarin Media offices in Jakarta and Bali, providing media relations to up-market hotels and resorts, the country’s premier golf courses and key Indonesian corporations.
O’Brien will join Mandarin Media (www.mandarinmedia.net) as its strategic partner, dividing time between Bali and Java and focusing his talent on arranging media attention for some of the world’s most prestigious leisure properties. A Canadian expatriate and co-founder of award-winning Destinasian magazine, O’Brien sees Indonesia as one of the region’s more under-represented countries within its hospitality sector. Yet he also sees a vast and culturally rich nation offering travelers some of Asia’s most desirable destinations and an archipelago teeming with natural beauty and myriad upscale resort offerings.
“It has always been our intention to seek out Indonesia and Indonesian properties for their huge promise
