A new airline has commenced operations from the northern Thai hub of Chiang Mai. Local media reported yesterday that Kan Air will offer daily flights on two domestic routes in northern Thailand – Chiang Mai-Pai and Chiang Mai-Nan – before commencing twice-daily services between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai last this month. The airline’s President Somphong Sooksanguan, told the Bangkok Post that the company has purchased a brand-new 14-seat Cessna Grand Caravan 208B for its northern services, and that it plans to acquire a second aircraft to launch southern Thailand operations out of Phuket.
