UK travel and hospitality recruitment specialist New Frontiers Recruitment has been purchased by TMS Talent, the Australian and Asia-based travel and hospitality recruiter, this week.
TMS Talent is backed by Bangkok-based investor Steven Hamblin and headed up by MD John Terry who has driven the expansion of TMS Talent over the past three years, with growth in Sydney sustaining the opening of offices in Brisbane, Melbourne and Bangkok in the past 12 months. Terry will head up New Frontiers in London as well as continuing to and TMS Talent in Australia and Asia.
Terry said: “The parallels between the two businesses are remarkable. TMS Talent and New Frontiers were formed within a year of each other in the mid 1990s and have both been serving the travel and hospitality markets within their own regions for over 20 years. The opportunity for us to share knowledge and experiences across the world will not only help to grow our business but also help to serve a number of global companies we currently partner with.”
New Frontiers has been running for over 24 years, headed up by founder Julia Feuell, who also runs Online Travel Training company (OTT).
Feuell said: “Making the decision to sell the company I established in 1993 has not been easy. As OTT has grown I have had less and less time to focus on New Frontiers and the time has come to hand over the reins. The reality is I have been absorbed for the last few years on OTT, which has experienced phenomenal growth and success.
“TMS Talent were looking for a London operation and I thought the match was perfect. As travel recruitment is increasingly international, a global branch network will be more and more relevant. When I met TMS Talent owners John & Steve, I knew New Frontiers staff, clients and candidates would be in great hands as they have the passion to drive the business forward.”
