New high-speed rail link launches in east China

Work has started on a new high-speed rail project in Anhui province, eastern China. Xinhua reported that construction is now progressing on a section of track linking the Anhui cities of Wuhu and Anqing. The 258km line, which will eventually extend from Anqing to Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province, is set to be completed by the end of 2012.
