Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas has become the first ship to call at the Historic Falmouth port in Jamaica. The port, which is between Ochos Rios and Montego Bay, is the first themed port and has 60 excursions available for cruise passengers. “We are delighted to see Voyager of the Seas make the first-ever ship call at Historic Falmouth,” said Craig Milan, senior vice president of land operations at Royal Caribbean. “By partnering with the Port Authority of Jamaica, we are working to deliver our shared vision of Falmouth’s rebirth. Together, we are bringing the town’s historic sites to life and integrating the culture and authenticity of this destination into a superior guest experience.” Developments on the port will now focus on completing a two-berth pier, retail and restaurant units and a transportation centre. Onsite attractions, hotels and residential areas will be constructed in subsequent phases.
