A new airport will be developed in the northern Vietnamese province of Lai Chau, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) has said. The plans for the airport were announced on Sunday by the country’s Ministry of Transportation and the Lai Chau People’s Committee. Located in the far northwest of Vietnam, close to the Chinese border, the airport will include a terminal capable of handling 40,000 passengers, rising to 110,000 in 2030.
