The New World Beijing Hotel opened on Friday, in the Chongwenmen area of the city.
Set in a residential neighbourhood, the new property features a low-rise design and offers 309 rooms and suites, ranging from 47 to 400m².
These include a series of rooms on Residence Club floors, which offer access to the Residence Club Living Room, featuring a library and reading room, dining areas, meeting spaces, a fireplace and concierge services. The Residence Club also includes a 1,000m² outdoor terrace.
F&B options at the new hotel include the 8 Qi Nian Chinese restaurant, featuring eight private dining rooms, the Tian Tan Kitchen restaurant with live cooking stations, and the Tang lobby lounge, while the Yin rooftop bar and lounge is expected to open in spring 2014, offering views across the city.
Other hotel facilities will include a spa with five treatment rooms, a 20-metre indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, steam and sauna rooms, while the corporate and events market can make use of more than 1,500m² of meeting space, including a grand ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows and six meeting rooms.
The Beijing property becomes the fifth Chinese hotel in New World’s portfolio, following existing hotels in Dalian, Shanghai, Foshan and Wuhan. But it marks the start of a major roll-out in the country, which will see New World add seven more hotels in the next three years, including new properties in Guiyang, Foshan, Qingyuan, Langfang, Shenyang, Haikou and Zhengzhou.
