Immigration New Zealand is modifying its visa policy for Chinese travellers as it looks to encourage Chinese tourism to New Zealand. The body will increase availability of multiple-entry visas and streamline the application process by relaxing document requirements and allowing submission of Chinese language applications. Arrivals to New Zealand from China have been growing significantly over the past decade, making it the fastest growing tourism market to New Zealand. Authorities even expect China to overtake the US as its third largest visitor market in the next few years. Kevin Bowler, Chief Executive of Tourism New Zealand said in a statement; “The additional effort by Immigration New Zealand in China will support this increasing demand, and is likely to encourage greater numbers of single destination travellers who will want to see more and do more in New Zealand.”
