Kerzner International has confirmed plans to operate a second luxury One&Only resort in Australia.
Following the launch of the One&Only Hayman Island in the Queensland earlier this year, the company has now signed a deal with Emirates to manage its luxury resort in Wolgan Valley, New South Wales. One&Only will take over the running of the Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa from January 2015.
“We are proud of all that the resort has achieved, but now we feel that it is time to work with a partner to expand the Wolgan experience and take the resort to new heights,” said Sir Tim Clark, president of Emirates.
“We are confident that Kerzner International, under the One&Only brand, is the perfect partner for Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa. They not only have the same high service quality standards that we demand of ourselves, but are also innovation-driven, and most importantly, they share the same vision for the resort as we do,” he added.
Set in the scenic Blue Mountains area, the 40-suite resort is built around an original farmhouse that dates back to 1832. Designed as a nature retreat, the resort will offer a range of outdoor activities such as horse riding, mountain biking, guided nature walks, hiking and food and wine tours, plus sporting activities including archery, golf, fly fishing, tennis and rock climbing. It also provides facilities for the MICE market.
“Emirates has always been an incredible partner for Kerzner International and I am thrilled to introduce One&Only to Wolgan Valley. It is an amazing resort and this creates the opportunity for One&Only to build on that success as well as that of One&Only Hayman Island in the Great Barrier Reef. These two iconic resorts are perfect locations for Australians for a short holiday as well as a must for any international visitor,” said Alan Leibman, CEO, Kerzner International.
The Wolgan Valley resort will become the eighth addition to One&Only’s global collection, with four other properties in the pipeline in Bahrain, Montenegro, Saudi Arabia and China.
