Orion plans Japanese debut

Orion Expedition Cruises’ new ship, Orion II, will make its inaugural voyages to Japan in June and July 2011. The 10-night Inland Sea of Japan voyage will visit Kanazawa, including a visit to a 100-year old former geisha house, and the Kenrokuen Garden, which features ponds, fountains, waterfalls, pagodas and bridges. Other activities include a trip to Matsue Castle, a lesson in how to make Soba noodles, and a visit to Sakai’s Sake brewery.
Guests will also be introduced to a direct descendant of the samurai, partake in traditional drumming with one of Japan’s best Taiko drum troupes. The voyages also includes a trip to Busan, South Korea, and its Jalgachi Fish Market, and a stay in Hiroshima which revolves around the Peace Park, Peace Museum and the A-Bomb Dome.
