Singapore’s Park Hotel Group has signed a management agreement for its first ever hotel in Australia.
The company will operate the Park Hotel Adelaide, which is scheduled to open in the last quarter of 2018 and will become the first Park outside Asia. The signing continues the group’s expansion into destinations across the Asia Pacific region, which will also include its debut properties in Indonesia and Thailand.
“Park Hotel Adelaide marks a significant milestone for Park Hotel Group. We have been looking to expand into Australia for a while and this collaboration presents an exciting opportunity for us to do just that,” said Allen Law, CEO of the Park Hotel Group.
“Adelaide has seen a massive expansion of convention facilities, the medical precinct and the Riverbank and Adelaide Oval development and represents tremendous growth opportunity. Increased flight connectivity, strong event calendar and continued growth of the Chinese and Asian markets would also drive record visitorship. We are extremely optimistic about Adelaide’s tourism prospects.”
Located in the centre of Adelaide, the 250-key new-build Park Hotel Adelaide will form part of a mixed-use development that also features 280 private residences. According to developers, the project will “integrate modern spaces into one of the city’s most iconic heritage landmarks”.
In addition to the 250 rooms and suites, the hotel will feature a café, bar, gymnasium and swimming pool.
Construction on the 30-storey development is expected to start early 2017. The addition of Park Hotel Adelaide will increase the group’s portfolio to 12 properties across five countries.
