The Erawan Group has reached an agreement with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide to rebrand Naka Island resort located on Koh Naka, Phuket. Featuring 67 luxury pool villas, two restaurants, a full service luxury spa and swimming pools, the resort will be launched under Starwood’s Luxury Collection brand. Scheduled to reopen in November this year, rebranding the resort is intended to increase returns on investment. Kamonwan Wipulakorn, President of the Erawan Group said; “This rebranding will transform the resort from its formerly restricted wellness destination to a much stronger and broader market demand of luxury pool-villa resort. The rebranding requires an additional investment of THB70 million (US$2.3 million) of which we expect to be fully recovered within three years.”The Naka Island, A Luxury Collection Resort and Spa will add to Starwood’s Thailand portfolio of 16 hotels and six pipeline properties.
