Phuket’s Trisara Academy to launch first hotel internships

Trisara Academy, the Phuket-based hotel training school operated by Montara Hospitality Group, is launching its new internship programme.
The three-month programme will begin on 2 March 2015 and consists of two separate courses – one in food & beverage operations and another in culinary preparation. The internship course is open to the public.
Trisara Academy was launched in July 2014 has since held a career development programme for internal managers. The public internship programme marks the next step in the scheme, intended to provide new career openings to local Thai students.
“As a locally-owned and -operated hotel group, we understand that there is a growing need for skilled employees in hotels and resorts across Thailand,” said Narong Pattamasaevi, owner & chairman of Montara. “We believe that the Academy’s intensive 520-hour course will provide students with the training and knowledge that they need to succeed in Thailand’s hospitality sector.”
The culinary preparation course will be led by Trisara’s executive chef Chalermchai Prakobkit, and is aimed at preparing students for entry level positions in hotel kitchens. The F&B course meanwhile, is led by Trisara managers and will equip students with the skills needed for employment as service staff.
Upon completion of the courses, students will also receive job placement assistance, including help with resume writing and arranging interviews with local hotels in Phuket.
“After completing an internship programme, we hope that our students will be fully prepared to begin rewarding careers in Thailand’s ever growing hospitality industry,” said Patteera Maneesri, director of the Trisara Academy.
