Authorities at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport have foiled an attempt to smuggle 40 reticulated pythons on to a flight bound for Dubai. The Jakarta Post reported airport operator, PT Angkasa Pura II, as saying that the two Kuwaiti nationals were nabbed as they were trying to board the Emirates flight on Friday. The sedated pythons were spotted as the men tried to pass their hand luggage through baggage screening. The snakes were taken to the airport’s quarantine centre, and the men have been held for questioning, the report said.
