Qantas adds Queenstown ski season services

MELBOURNE, 4 June 2010: Qantas announced today it would add seven supplementary services between Melbourne and Queenstown, New Zealand to support demand over the peak Summer period as well as extra services to coincide with the upcoming ski season.
Qantas Regional General Manager New Zealand and Pacific Islands, Mr Grant Lilly, said the seven return services would coincide with the increase in leisure travel over the summer period.
“The extra capacity will benefit the New Zealand tourism industry and we are pleased to offer our customers an extra service each week on top of our existing three return services per week on the Melbourne to Queenstown route.
“It will also help to encourage Australians to take their holidays in Queenstown,” Mr Lilly said.
“Our full service offering allows passengers to enjoy a meal or refreshment while they sit back, relax and enjoy the inflight entertainment in either our Business or Economy Class cabins.”
The additional weekly flights will operate from 18 December 2010 until 29 January 2011. The Melbourne to Queenstown flight will operate on Saturdays as QF177, departing at 9.30am, with the return Queenstown to Melbourne service operating on Saturdays as QF178 and departing at 3.35pm.
