Qantas has said that a pilots’ union’s concerns over job security are unfounded. The Australian & International Pilots Association (AIPA) has claimed that its members’ job security is under threat, and has threatened industrial action. A Qantas statement released today disputed this claim, saying that the airline has not made a pilot redundant in almost 40 years and there is no threat to the job security. The Aussie airline said that the threat of industrial action was “part of the union’s posturing to get increased wages and conditions”.
