Qatar Airways will launch an additional flight to Singapore this summer, using its brand new Airbus A350 aircraft.
Commencing on 1 June 2015, the third daily flight will depart Doha at 2025 and arrive in Singapore’s Changi Airport at 0915 the next morning. The return service will then leave Singapore at 1040 before arriving back in Doha at 1315.
This flight will complement the airline’s existing 0225 and 0700 departures from Doha, and the 0230 and 2120 return flights from Changi.
The new service will be operated using the A350 aircraft, and then in July and August, the new twin-aisle aircraft will be deployed on Qatar Airways’ other two daily services to Singapore, once the airline takes delivery of more A350s.
This deployment will make Qatar Airways the first airline to operate the A350 aircraft to Singapore, and the Asia Pacific region.
Qatar Airways’ A350 comes equipped with 283 seats – 36 seats in business class and 247 in economy.
“Qatar Airways is proud to be the first airline in the world to introduce the next generation A350 XWB aircraft to Asia,” said Qatar Airways’ CEO, Akbar Al Baker.
“We are also delighted to add another flight to this important and strategic route which will provide our Singapore-based passengers with even more options when they travel on business or leisure to key destinations in Europe and the Americas.”
The global launch customer of the A350, Qatar Airways currently operates the aircraft on the Doha-Frankfurt route. The airline’s second A350 will arrive in February and will also fly to Frankfurt.
