The Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) has launched a GCC-wide advertising campaign to promote events and activities during Eid. This is being undertaken to attract regional visitors. The authority will be marketing the Eid Al-Fitr festival in the five GCC countries of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE and Oman. The festival will be a seven-day event starting on the first day of Eid.
Tourism data released by QTA of the first quarter of 2014 revealed that total number of visitors from around the world rose by 26%, while percentage of visitors from Kuwait rose by 42%.
