Multi-brand hotel operator CHI Hotels & Resorts (CHI) is to open the Ramada Sharjah, the first Ramada branded hotel & suites property in the Emirate of Sharjah. Located opposite the iconic Sahara Centre, the 250-suite hotel (50 one-bedroom and 200 two-bedroom) will offer high-speed internet access, a fully-equipped business centre, two meeting rooms, a pool and health club, the ‘Jasmine’ coffee shop and ‘Zaafaran’, a restaurant serving international cuisine. “The opening of the Ramada Sharjah is a red-letter day for CHI as it not only marks our company’s first hotel operation in the Emirate, but also our introduction for the first time of the popular and highly-rated Ramada brand to the wonderful city of Sharjah,” said CHI chief executive officer and managing director Tony Potter. “It should also serve as a catalyst for the company’s further expansion in the region.” The hotel’s new general manager Tamas Fazekas added: “In order to compete effectively in the UAE’s booming hospitality sector, we knew we would have to introduce a brand that wasn’t just different or affordable, but one that truly understands the discerning corporate and leisure traveler’s needs, namely proximity to business hubs, in-room conveniences and connectivity.”
