Passenger traffic to Cambodia’s three international airports exceeded the seven million mark for the first time last year.
According to data released by Cambodia Airports, the company that manages the airports in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville, the total of approximately 7.1m passengers marked an 8.5% year-on-year increase.
Siem Reap International Airport was the country’s busiest hub last year, with passenger traffic increasing 5.5% to 3.5m, while traffic at Phnom Penh airport jumped 10% to 3.4m. Finally, the smaller Sihanoukville International Airport saw its traffic increase 66% to 155,000 passengers.
The three airports handled a total of 33,345 flights in 2016.
