Royal Jordanian (RJ) increased on-time performance to 90% in August 2010 compared to 84% in August 2009.
“The airline was able to improve the on-time performance of its scheduled flights despite the increase in the number of passengers, flights and flight hours,” said RJ President and CEO Hussein Dabbas.
He pointed out that the company transported about 300,000 passengers in August, compared to 285,000 passengers in the same month of last year, which represents a rise of 4.3%.
Dabbas added: “The seat factor also increased last month by almost half a point, from 74.1% to 73.7% in the comparison period, while the number of flights increased from 3,265 in 2009 to 3,435 this August, marking a 5.2% increase.”
He pointed out that Royal Jordanian operates more than 110 daily scheduled flights to its destinations to 58 international cities.
The increase in the number of flights also meant an increase in flying hours of the 30 aircraft in RJ fleet. The total flight hours grew to 9,983 from 9,766 during the comparison period, marking a growth rate of 2.2%.
