Royal Jordanian (RJ) has reinstated regular services from Amman to Kuala Lumpur (via Bangkok) following a seven year suspension in operations between the two countries due to commercial reasons.Services recommenced yesterday (2 June) with the route served by one of RJ’s new A330s (pictured) three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday.RJ President/CEO Hussein Dabbas said the decision to reconnect Jordan and Malaysia came in light of the Malaysian economic revival and the growth of its commercial activity and tourism.Dabbas said feasibility conducted by RJ showed that resuming flights to Kuala Lumpur was bound to service the economic and commercial movement, and the communities living in the two countries, particularly students and businessmen. Additionally, RJ will be transporting tourist groups to and from Malaysia, as Malaysia is a preferred destination for Jordanian families and various other countries in the region.Dabbas also said that Jordan constituted a stop for Malaysian passengers travelling to holy places in Mecca, Medina Munawwara and Jerusalem. The new A330s have high standards of comfort and luxury features, among which the Audio Video On Demand (AVOD) entertainment system for each passenger on board the 283-seat aircraft, 24 being on Crown Class.
